It's barely been a week and a half since I first met Laurie March, my Project Manager, and in that time I've bought a new stove, dishwasher, and sink; picked countertops, kitchen paint colors, and backsplash tile; had an information-gathering home inspection; met with a floor guy, a counter guy, and a tile guy; and carpenter Ryan Sanderson and his assistant have been busting ass on my front windows.
Seriously. This woman does not mess around.
The kitchen remodel should be up and running soon, but in the meantime, thought you might enjoy an update on the windows.
Things have been chaotic around my house for awhile, what with my indecisiveness about moving or staying, so this lovely plastic curtain just kinda fit right in:
Okay, so it's not totally done yet. But it's getting there, and it's going to be beautiful.
One of the most wonderful things about Ryan and George, aside from their amazing skill, is how considerate they are about keeping the project as contained and tidy as possible.
And now we go outside...
... where you can see just a little of what will be my new trim color on that middle window. It's a very Morrocan-ish blue, and I think it'll look gorgeous when the house is repainted a more earthy tone. Finally, look at this detail:
Right? That Ryan knows what he's doing, doesn't he? And all I have to do is sit back and admire.
And occasionally write a check.
But let's not talk about that part.

It is looking so gorgeous! I'm really glad you decided to stay and remodel and that you are sharing the process with your readers instead of just before and after pics.

I'm so jealous ... it looks great. I'll trade you a two bedroom condo for your house.

Can't go wrong with Laurie... She is an amazing project manager! I love working with her. That girl has style and the best contractors!

Wow, that IS going to look beautiful! Love that the guys are being considerate and cleaning up etc when they leave. We had a bathroom remodel once and it was a disaster during the day but when those guys left everything was just like your picture. In a small neat pile, pretty much out of the way. It was something I actually didn't expect so it was nice surprise.
Don't forget pics of the kitchen when it starts. Didn't one of your earlier pictures show a pink tile countertop?? ;-)
Blessings, C

Awesome, Ryan seems to be doing a great job, really. Your house is going to look great, I'm sure. As of right now, it looks very Greek (Greek style) from outside. Good luck with finishing it!
