My Books (with Elizabeth Craft)

  • 'Bass Ackwards and Belly Up' and 'Footfree and Fancyloose' tell the story of four best friends who commit the ultimate suburban sin: putting off college to pursue their dreams.

Publisher's Weekly said: "Full of romance and adventure, laughter and tears, the story is a reminder that veering from the straight and narrow road doesn't always lead to a dead end."

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Everyone comes to me...we have a big family Thanksgiving that was started by my grandmother. After she died, me, being the oldest grandchild have taken up the reins. I love everything about this holiday and Sarah, on this special edition of Thanksgiving...I am thankful for you and your beautiful daughter.
I want to share a Thanksgiving blessing with you and all your starfishes...I wish I could remember where I got it...I did not write it but wish I had. So,
'We give thanks to our Creator for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. For the days we've had together and all the days to come; for the joys and sorrows that bind us ever closer; for the trials we have overcome. And, for teaching us that we can do no great things. Only small things, with great love. We thank you.'

I am thankful my kiddos will be arriving tonight. I miss them awful. Best to all of you who have shared this journey.

sitting up late with my kiddos last night..full of football, food and football...national geo channel: unlikely animal friends...a segment on Dominic and Maria...she flys next to him while he rides his scooter! Is that still in your neck of the woods?

Hi Sarah! I had a question for you about possibly collaborating on something and was hoping you could email me back to discuss? Thanks so much!

    What is Starfish Envy??

    • L.A. 2009. I’m stuck in traffic on the 101 freeway, listening to Isabella Rosselini on NPR. Isabella, for some reason, mentions that starfish are one of those rare species that can reproduce asexually, and I realize that if I could do that, I wouldn't have to worry about finding a boyfriend/husband. I wouldn’t have to internet date! I wouldn't have to figure out if I want to/can/should have a baby/adopt a baby/child on my own. I wouldn't have to stress about things like FSH levels, or weigh my feelings on in vitro versus adoption. I would just have a baby. Thus began my starfish envy.
