I'm new at this give-away thing, and I realized I forgot to set a date for ENDING said give-away.
So, if you make a donation of any amount to Water.org in the next week-- let's say by 9 p.m. PST Thanksgiving night-- and then let me know you made a donation by leaving a comment or tweeting me on twitter (@sarahmfain), you will be entered to win!
And when I say any amount, I mean any amount.
Twenty-five dollars is enough to provide one person with safe drinking water for life, so even five dollars can make a real difference. Although if you want to donate $5000 to construct a spring protection system for a village in Ethiopia, that's cool, too. (Thanks, Chris, for that link.)
What are you entering to win?
A signed copy of WP's and my first book, Bass Ackwards and Belly Up! A signed copy of WP's and my second book, Footfree and Fancyloose! A Lie to Me ball cap! My own personal, but never been used, Vampire Diaries water bottle!
And if you'd like us to sign the books to someone else, so you can give them as a gift, we're happy to do that, too.
.
And now for the drag.
TNG (that's Tall, Normal Guy) never called. Which means that my life is not, in fact, a romantic comedy.
And I am now five days into a Two Week Wait that will end on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I veer from being wildly optimistic to being wildly pessimistic, usually within the same seventeen seconds.
Whatevs.
We're helping folks get water. All is well.
TNG probably wasn't so N, anyway. And I'll bet he had bad breath. And a really hairy back. And clearly, no follow-through.
XO

I love organizations like Water.org that have a single-minded focus and do it really well. Thank you for highlighting them! I have made my donation, and should I be fortunate enough to win the drawing, I would like a copy of Bass Ackwards and Belly Up, inscribed to "Anna".

Hi Sarah,
I just made my donation to water.org and would like to be entered in the drawing. I started following you because I am a TVD fan (and spend way too much time playing on the internet). I am also trying to get pregnant and understand what you are going through, though my situation is a little different. I am married, but have endometriosis which is a leading cause of infertility. I've had 3 surgeries, one failed IVF, and am planning on another surgery and IVF after the holidays. I know how it feels to be in the two week wait and I wish you all the best! Your books sound like a good read, as I would love to give up the normal path for a while and follow my dreams. I love my life as a wife and first grade teacher, but need some excitement now and then. I would love to be involved with the movie/tv industry, as I have always found it fascinating (especially seeing how a script is translated into action on screen). I am very thankful for shows like TVD that help me escape reality for a while, as thinking too much about not being able to get pregnant is rather depressing. Anyway, sorry for such a long, rambling response. Congratulation on going after what you want and I truly hope that this IUI works for you!

Hi Sarah, I had heard about Water.org a while ago but thank you for the reminder and I made a donation. This is a great organization and it is so sad that what we take for granted in our country is so hard to come by in others.
I've only recently started following you but good luck with the IUI, forget about TNG and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
