I Asked For It...

Well, I said I wanted more belly, and I got it!

Yesterday WP and I played hookie from the office for ten minutes to take a walk around the block, and as we were walking, I could see her oh so casually checking me out in the belly region.

"You definitely look pregnant!" she said, grinning.

And she was right. Just in the last few days, even the baggiest of clothes don't hide the bump, which is starting to be more of an emphatic BUMP!

It's quite exciting, I must say.

Especially because Little Girl is moving around more and more. Sometimes I feel her punching at my bladder, other times kicking about just above my belly button.

According to Baby Center, she weighs almost a pound now, and is approximately the size of a spaghetti squash.

Which is pretty darn big.

And getting bigger every day...

Enjoy that BUMP!! Never bemoan any stretch marks you may get either. They are a small thing compared to Baby Girl.

i saw an ad the other day...b/w woman's torso...several weeks after a delivery...stretch marks on tummy...caption:

not marks, stripes....you earned them!

What is Starfish Envy??

L.A. 2009. I’m stuck in traffic on the 101 freeway, listening to Isabella Rosselini on NPR. Isabella, for some reason, mentions that starfish are one of those rare species that can reproduce asexually, and I realize that if I could do that, I wouldn't have to worry about finding a boyfriend/husband. I wouldn’t have to internet date! I wouldn't have to figure out if I want to/can/should have a baby/adopt a baby/child on my own. I wouldn't have to stress about things like FSH levels, or weigh my feelings on in vitro versus adoption. I would just have a baby. Thus began my starfish envy.
